Around 1 billion people speak Mandarin Chinese around the world, meaning the Mandarin language has more native speakers than any other language. You’ll find Mandarin Chinese mostly spoken in China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia. Chinese grammar is also surprisingly straightforward, with none of the tenses, plurals, cases or genders that can make learning European languages difficult. Mandarin is a tonal language, which means the pitch or intonation in which a sound is spoken affects the meaning.
