Disability Volunteer

Volunteer

Volunteers are an important addition to our team assisting us to provide opportunities for the people we support that may otherwise be difficult to achieve.

Staff and volunteers at SGSCC disAbility come to us with a wide range of skills and backgrounds and through various channels. What sets them apart is their passion for supporting and empowering people with a disability to make choices and live the lives they want.

Why Volunteer?

  • Make a difference in the life of a person with a disability
  • Be part of your community
  • Learn new skills
  • Be part of a team and make new friends
  • Increase motivation and personal satisfaction
  • Try new experiences and explore new hobbies
  • Boost your career options

Volunteers will be asked to complete a NDIS Workers Screening check (Volunteer).

We are also keen to explore your ideas of how you can assist us. For more information or to discuss please contact SGSCC disAbility on 02 8543 7429 or email disability@sgscc.edu.au

Work Experience & Students

SGSCC disAbility welcomes students from High Schools and Vocational Education or University.

Ask your High School about volunteering for us; various school programs are in existence. Young or adult students from our Registered Training Organisation section often do a work placement with us too but you don’t have to be enrolled in a course at SGSCC to do work experience or volunteer.

Many students from university and vocational areas apply for volunteer roles to gain experience outside their placement hours. If you want to further your education and find experience in your chosen field of study or just want to give something back to your community contact us to discuss or for more information please contact SGSCC disAbility on 02 8543 7429 or email disability@sgscc.edu.au
