"...the most I like here is the class and what we can learn"

Mayumi Saiki, Japan - Certificate III Individual Support

What did you do prior to SGSCC?

I had the course to study English in Tafe for six month. After that, I had taken the preparation for OET course in Tafe.

How did you find out about SGSCC?

My agency for VIZA introduced me about SGSCC, because I was thinking that it would be the time to start working in the field of nursing. For that, I thought it would benefit for me to study Aged care and get a certificate.

What do you like best about studying at SGSCC?

I really like this school in many points. Firstly, the facility, especially the lunch room is up for students to be comfortable. It provides us tea, coffee, microwave to use. Secondly, all the teachers are very friendly. When I first started this course, I was really nervous. But all the teachers always smile to me every time I see. However, the most I like here is the class and what we can learn. Working in nursing home is quite tough. But here the teachers always let me think and remind to respect the patient or elderly people. I believe this is most important and can lead to working in peace.

Where do you see yourself after completing your qualification?

My purpose here is to become a RN. For that, I still need to improve my English a lot. I need to pass OET exam, and apply for registration. I will take more time for me. I would like to keep studying not only English but also aged care which is connected to my field and I can learn useful English too. After I get Certificate lll, I would like to work as on AIN too.
