Our Special Interest Programs give students from Year 1 through to the HSC opportunities to explore learning beyond their regular Maths and English classes. 

These changing programs are designed to spark curiosity, develop practical skills and encourage students to discover new academic, creative and personal strengths. Programs may be delivered as weekly courses, holiday sessions, workshops or focused learning experiences throughout the year. 

Programs That Change and Grow 

Our Special Interest Programs are regularly updated to reflect the interests and needs of students and families. 

Some programs may run for several weeks, while others may be offered as a one-day workshop, weekend session or school holiday program. This flexibility allows us to introduce new topics and respond to emerging areas of learning. 

Programs may include: 

• Young Authors Academy
• Understanding AI and using it responsibly
• AI for study success
• Public speaking and debating
• Financial literacy
• Study skills and examination preparation
• Student wellbeing
• Cartooning, visual arts and creative programs
• Transition to high school
• HSC preparation and academic skill-building

Program availability, age groups and course length may vary throughout the year. 

Special Interest Programs may also give students opportunities to explore creative and performing areas such as visual arts, cartooning, storytelling, drama or performance. 

These programs encourage imagination, self-expression and experimentation while helping students develop confidence and new ways of communicating their ideas. 

Programs for Every Stage of School 

Programs may be offered for primary, high school or HSC students, depending on the topic and level of content. 

Younger students may focus on creativity, communication and foundational skills. Older students may explore more advanced academic, practical and future-focused topics. 

Each program clearly identifies the appropriate year levels so families can select an option suited to their child’s age, interests and goals. 

Led by Experienced Educators 

Our Special Interest Programs are developed and delivered by qualified, experienced teachers and educators with knowledge relevant to the program area. 

Teachers create structured, engaging sessions that combine clear instruction with practical activities and opportunities for students to apply what they have learned. 

Learning Beyond the Usual Classroom 

Special Interest Programs allow students to explore subjects that may not always receive dedicated time within the school day. 

Whether a student wants to strengthen their writing, understand AI, improve their public speaking, prepare for the HSC or discover a new creative interest, these programs provide a supportive place to learn, participate and grow. 

New programs are introduced throughout the year, giving students fresh opportunities to develop academic, creative, communication and life skills.
