Tech Savvy Seniors - Intro to Computers

Is your computer sitting idle, do you need to buy a new one ? This workshop will walk you through the basics of what a computer is, what it’s important components are and how it works. We will discuss the devices in use today such as tables, phones, laptops and desktops and help you decide what you need to communicate in todays world. Then we will create a document on our computer or yours and do a little web surfing along the way.

In This Course You Will Learn:

  • Computer Terminology
  • What the important components in a Personal computer (PC) are
  • How to select the PC (device) you need today
  • Exploring and using your device or ours to perform simple activities such as creating a document, surfing the web

What to bring:

  • Pen
  • Pad
  • Your Laptop, if you have one

Who is this session for:

  • People over 60
  • People over 50 with a lifelong disability
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people over 50.

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
