Tai Chi - Taster
Tai Chi is a gentle form of exercise and can help maintain strength, flexibility and balance. It is low impact, slow motion exercise with circulat movements that are never forced, the muscles are relaxed rather than tense, open the joints and move softly and with intention. Qigong is used as a warm up to open and relax your body.
Tai Chi can help you as it requires strength and coordination that can challenge all fitness levels. You learn to be aware of your whole body and how it works.
Course Outline:
- Warm up gentle movements
- Qigong 8 pieces of brocade excercise
- Introduction to 13 movements and yang 24 form
- Cooling down exercise
- The form can be modified to suit all abilities
Learning Outcomes:
- Learn basic moves of Tai Chi
- Understand technique to improve balance
- More awareness of body co-ordination
- Have a more calm, relaxed body and awareness of any tension
What to bring:
- Wear flat comfortable enclosed shoes
- Wear loose clothing
- Water bottle
