Pilates Plus St George & Sutherland Community College

Pilates Plus

Pilates Plus is a low impact exercise class, designed to promote strength and mobility of all the muscle groups in the body while also improving core engagement, balance, flexibility and postural awareness.

We begin with a series of standing Pilates style exercises to enhance the balance and strengthen the postural muscles for correct body alignment. Each week, we’ll go through a sequence of passive matwork Pilates strengthening and stretching exercises to help ease tight muscles, improve core stability and gradual conditioning through mindful movements.

The focus is to create strength through muscle balance and movement, but don’t be fooled – what appears to look simple can sometimes be deceptively challenging! Increase the fun by using light hand weights, chi balls, body weight and foam rollers (supplied by the instructor).
