Crochet with Kathy
Crochet, it’s not just for grannies! Crochet has seen a phenomenal resurgence since the late 1990’s and even more so since the Covid pandemic. It is an absolute pleasure to be able to teach people this incredible handcraft. This course is designed for beginners, or for those who need refreshers of the basics. Learn how to create a slip knot and chain stitch and then you will learn double crochet and treble crochet. These stitches are the absolute foundation of every stitch you will need when you start to read patterns.
You will receive printouts and descriptions of each stitch and how it is completed. It is also very important to understand the difference between UK and US stitches as the names are different although the stitches and how they are created are the same. (This is important for when you begin to read and purchase patterns)

About the Tutor
'My name is Kathy and I have been crocheting for almost 50 years and many might say that I am addicted. I have recently completed a crochet teacher course and will soon become an accredited crochet teacher. As a young girl I started with granny squares and by the time I had my first child at 19 I was able to read patterns and create beautiful baby shawls. I love to create intricate and colourful wearables for the whole family and have made many one-off items that have made their way to friends and family across the world. I love to save granny square blankets and have recently begun to upcycle them into wearables. This is something that I would love to share with each of you as you begin your very own journey.'
