Utilise recycled materials, papers, inks, markings and collage techniques to create a one-of-a-kind accordion journal. This taster course will cover basics that will then be built on in the Altered Journal one day workshop.

• What is an altered book journal and its uses?
• Tools and materials overview
• Creating the cover – layering, mark making and collage
• Accordion fold insert and finishing touches

• Understand fundamentals of altered book art and its possibilities and uses
• Learn techniques including mark making and collage
• Design and create a journal cover and construct an accordion journal
• Experience the joy of community creating and mindfulness
