Creative Photography Techniques - Taster
This unique Creative Techniques Taster session, is specially designed for anyone whom understands and be able to use their camera and its controls, whom wishes to learn how to make their photographs, far more dramatic and artistic. Set amongst the beautiful gardens of the College, you will learn how to really put that wow factor in your Photography.
This session will conclude with an open chat session with the Tutor, about any questions relating to the actual Creative Techniques Photography Course, and Photography in general. Learn in a relaxed but informative atmosphere, with a Tutor of over 11 years + Photography Tutoring.
Course Outline:
- Light and exposure – Under and over exposure / high key low key lighting
- Creating dramatic composition; Using Negative Space and, Aspect Ratios; I.e., square, rectangular and panoramic
- How to use any lens to create dramatic photographs; Using lenses creatively, lens magnification, and Zooming with your feet
- Special effects ZOOM effect and Intentional Camera Movement – ICM
Learning Outcomes:
- You will learn about Lighting and exposure – Under and over exposure / high key low key lighting

- Learn how to use any lens in your kit, even if you only have one lens, to create dramatic photographs; Using lenses creatively, lens magnification, and Zooming with your feet.
- Learn how to get really creative with Special effects including; ZOOM effect and Intentional Camera Movement – ICM.
What to bring:
Camera Equipment;
Any adjustable digital camera; DSLR / 4/3rds / Mirrorless / Superzoom / Bridge camera / Advanced Compact camera with;
- RAW / JPEG image capability (JPEG only is fine)
- adjustable ISO/film speed settings
- with adjustable exposure settings; shutter, aperture, and manual exposure i.e. S or TV, A or AV, and M,
- With manual/autofocus capability
- Also if your camera has adjustable picture control/picture style settings i.e. monochrome standard, neutral, etc

Any Zoom Lenses you have
Any Prime lens(es) you have
A small umbrella, water, note pad and pen
Please wear sensible clothing, as this is an outdoor session, also please wear closed in footwear only, for your safety.

Site Directions
West side of Jannali, closest cross street is Louise Street.
There is free onsite parking available and ample on road parking (not metered) if the car park is full.
Public Transport
From Jannali Station walk to the West side along Jannali railway (heading towards Sutherland), the fourth street on the right is Louise Street. Jannali Centre is at the end of Louise Street
