This comprehensive 4 week short course, is now set amongst the beautiful Pacific Ocean, along the famous Esplanade at North Cronulla, and Cronulla.
This short course is tailored to learn both Creative Photography and Photography Techniques, to truly create dramatic photographs, and to really put that wow factor in your Photography. You will be able to build on, and increase your techniques and skillset, and take your Photography beyond what you can see – “Seeing Beyond” the true cornerstone of Creative Photography.
Depending on the weather, it will be held in North Cronulla, and also Cronulla, to maximise greater opportunities to learn Creative Photography techniques, through various lighting and weather conditions, in these different locations.
A maximum of 8 x places for a greater learning experience, and more one to one time with the Tutor. Please note: for week 3, the Tutor has 3 x tripods for students to share, to enable this tutorial for all students. The Tutor will send an email to advise what to bring, meeting point and parking prior to course start, and comprehensive course notes, once the course has started.

Course Outline:
Week 1 North Cronulla:
Creating dramatic photographs in Colour and Black & White Comprehensive Set up, in depth theory and tuition of how to see and Photograph in both Colour and Black & White (monochrome). Creating dramatic Light and Shadow Effects; Silhouette, over and under exposure, extreme lighting and flare effects.
Week 2 North Cronulla:
How to use any lens to create dramatic photographs; Point of View – POV, Using lenses creatively, lens magnification, and Zooming with your feet. Creating dramatic composition; Framing, Composition, Negative Space and, Aspect Ratios; I.e., Formats; square, rectangular and panoramic (depending on camera make and model).
Week 3 North Cronulla:
Panning, Long exposures and Light Painting using a tripod. Learn how to set up your tripod and camera properly for long exposures, learn how to get amazing Intentional Camera Movement shots using slow to long shutter speeds and panning your tripod and how the different shutter speeds affect intentional movement – ICM.
At either North Cronulla Beach or Cronulla’s famous 33 Rockpool; (Location depends on weather and light). Please note: The Tutor will have 3 x tripods for students to share.
Week 4 North Cronulla:
Zoom effects; – Zoom only, Twist and Zoom effect Panning and Rotation effects – handheld. Bokeh effect; how to create magical bokeh photographs – otherwise known as intentional blur. Intentional Camera Movement – ICM. Multiple Exposures – which can be done in most recent digital cameras, otherwise you can you use free legitimate post processing software, to ‘sandwich’ photographs together (links to software in notes sent by the Tutor) As a pre caution especially if you have not used your camera for a while, please check that your camera is working; i.e. activating the shutter and lens focus / zoom barrel(s) etc
Skill Level:
This Photography course is suitable for anyone whom has a good working knowledge of their camera and its controls, and an understanding of exposure; shutter speeds, apertures or anyone whom has done Beginners / An introduction to Photography Course / DSLR Photography course or similar.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE YOUR battery, batteries with you x 2 if you have them, and please charge them to FULL even if the indicator is 3/4 or 2/3 as it is not enough power, especially if you only have 1 x battery.
Memory card(s) x 2 if you have them
An extra battery and memory card, are strongly recommended, as your camera will be ON for the most your tutorials, and also reviewing your photographs frequently.

RAW / JPEG image capability (JPEG only is fine)
adjustable ISO/film speed settings
with adjustable exposure settings; shutter, aperture, and manual exposure i.e. S or TV, A or AV, and M,
With manual/autofocus capability
Also if your camera has adjustable picture control/picture style settings i.e. monochrome standard, neutral, etc
A spare camera body if you have one

Any Zoom Lenses you have
Any Prime lens(es) if you have them If you have any lens with a fast aperture of f1.4 / f1.8 / f2.0 / f2.8 etc these will be very useful for night time photography Some night photography is done at close quarters + so make sure you also bring your widest zoom lens and or widest wide-angle prime lens or + fisheye lens if you have one. For night sessions / flash Photography:
Your internal camera flash is fine for night sessions, but if you have a separate camera flash, please bring that too
With necessary batteries; fresh alkaline or fully charged – rechargeable batteries
For week 4 If you have one any of these; A Tripod / Tripod plate and a cable / electronic release for camera Please note: The Tutor has 3 x tripods for students to share

A torch – LED and a cob-lamp / headlamp are essential to adjust set up your camera in the dark

Weather:
These sessions will run regardless of the weather, to give participants an opportunity to photograph in fine or wet weather. A session will only be postponed to a future date if heavy weather / thunderstorm is forecast or it is continuously raining.
Expenses:
Coffee/drinks / food/dinner / snacks /etc, transport to and from and any other expenses are not included in the cost of this course
About the Tutor
'My name is Neoklis Bloukos and I have had a passion for photography since I was 14 years old. With over 50+ years of experience in Photography including; 10+ years as a Photography Tutor, and 20+ years of digital Photography and post processing. I am now a Professional Photography Tutor, teaching all levels of Photography at SGSCC.
I am passionate about Photography and love to teach and share both classic and modern Photography techniques, and believe it is the most significant visual medium on this planet.
My Photography Courses, Field Trips and Workshops, are not just about learning Photography, but experiences with like-minded people whom want to learn, share and enjoy the Photography learning experience together, in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.'
