Zentangle Beyond the Basics

This workshop explores more intricate tangle patterns while breaking them down into elemental strokes. Learn how to combine different tangle patterns to create your piece of art. Following the Zentangle method and philosophy, this class aims to increase focus, creativity, self-confidence, and an increased sense of well-being. There are ‘no mistakes’. All equipment is provided for you to take home. In this workshop, you will be amazed at what you can learn, draw and design! Must have completed the Intro class first.

Course Outline:

  • Zentangle philosophy review
  • Steps to Zentangle (including relaxation)
  • Using the equipment
  • Specific patterns and how to shade
  • How to continue the Zentangle journey

  • Understand the Zentangle Method and philosophy

About the Tutor:

'Jennifer has a Bachelor of Arts degree and has always had a love of art and creative pursuits. In 2015 Jennifer travelled to Providence, Rhode Island USA to become a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT). Since then she has been teaching the method and sharing her love of art with others. Jennifer enjoys creating artworks using pen, ink, and watercolour. She experiments with incorporating patterns into landscapes using mixed media and has submitted her work for exhibition. Jennifer continues to learn and develop her practice and skills through research and attending art conferences. In November 2018 Jennifer travelled to Providence to attend an event for CZTs to learn new techniques and bring new inspiration to her students.'

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
