A one day podcast masterclass where you’ll learn how to write, produce, host and edit your very own podcast. You’ll be taught how to write scripts in a succinct style and learn interview techniques suitable for radio and broadcast media. Everyone will record on professional microphones and learn how to edit in music and sound effects on a free recording software.

You will leave with your own MP3 podcast and industry knowledge on where to source royalty free music and how to publish your podcast onto Spotify and other major platforms for free. An excellent learning opportunity to explore storytelling through sound and refine your communication, public speaking and writing skills. Suitable for anyone who has ever wanted to start a podcast but has no idea where to begin as well as a great introduction into a career in radio and broadcast media. Please bring your own laptop. All other equipment is provided.

Course outline:

• Morning Session: Introduction to podcasting, script writing, learning how to record intros and outros and learning how to use the editing software.
• Middle session: Recording your podcast on professional microphones.
• Last session: Editing in music / sound effects. Wrap up with information on how to publish a podcast and understanding how these skills can be used in the workforce.

'Pop Up Podcast is taught by news journalist, educator, podcast host & producer and content creator Stephanie Aceglav. Stephanie has worked in the media for more than a decade at networks including Prime 7 news, Radio 2SM and 89.3 2GLF. Stephanie runs her own business, Media For Millennials, and works with students and businesses across the state to deliver media and communication workshops. She has also worked as the executive producer on a number of podcast series for clients and also produces and hosts her own podcast.'
