Learn French for Beginners - Part 1

The beginner’s French part 1 course is a good way to get started with learning the French language. Our native French-speaking tutor are happy to provide you with a sound foundation for the basics of the French language and its pronunciation. She understands the challenges that come with learning a new language, and how to overcome them and be confident.

This course is suitable for absolute beginners. No knowledge of the language is assumed. You will learn the basis of the French language in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We will use the book “The French experience 1” as a basic tool to refer to, but during the classes, we will use multitudes of material audio and hard copies, and a multi-media which includes use of video, role play and games.

Units 0-1 and 5

  • Greetings (Hellos & Goodbyes)
  • Formality and informality: Addressing people
  • Numbers 0-70
  • The alphabet
  • Asking for things: Ordering a snack at a café
  • Introducing yourself
  • Personnel information: Name, Nationality, Profession, Country and town of birth
  • Les courses
  • Shopping
  • Grammar
  • Definite/indefinite articles
  • Gender: Masculin/feminine
  • Pronouns personnels
  • Verbs: S’appeler, être, avoir , habiter etc.
  • Describing nouns: Adjectives
  • Asking questions
  • Possessive adjectives

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this French for Beginners Part 1 you should be able to:

  • Greet and say goodbye
  • Ask for things: Ordering a snack at a café
  • Introduce yourself and provide personnel information.
  • Count to 70
  • Spell your name in French
  • Use formal and informal pronouns tu/vous
  • Ask questions
  • Describe flavours and ingredients

  • The French Experience 1 text book

Language Bundle:

  • All language classes/levels are delivered as Part 1 and Part 2 across two terms. To maximise your chance of learning we recommend enrolling into both parts 1 and 2.
  • If you book into Parts 1 and Part 2 you will automatically save $40.
  • When enrolling in Part 1, Part 2 will automatically be selected at the checkout. You can untick Part 2 if you wish.

She often travels to France to spend time with family and she recently spent a week in “Le Touquet ” in the North of France which she loved very much. She provides a multi-media experience for language acquisition, which includes use of video, role play and literature."

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
