About the Tutor:

'I’m Marie of The Makers Republic, a mixed media and collage artist with over 20 years of experience and a lifelong love of making. I work with paper, fabric, embroidery, paint, and more—blending textures, layers, and techniques to create pieces that are rich in colour and detail.

My creative process is rooted in play and experimentation. I love giving myself permission to explore, to follow my intuition, and to make without overthinking. I’m especially drawn to materials that might otherwise be thrown away—old papers, scraps of fabric, worn-out packaging—and finding new life and beauty in them through upcycling and collage.
Making, for me, is a way to connect—with myself, with materials, and with others. I’m passionate about bringing people together to share stories, spark ideas, and create in the community.'
