Beginners Yoga St George & Sutherland Community College

Beginners Yoga

Each week students will learn and develop a variety of Hatha Yoga poses and different pranayama’s (breathing exercises). This class will help you learn to focus on integrating your breath into each pose in order to find ease and steadiness within. Typically practiced more slowly and with more static posture holds than a vinyasa or Astanga making it perfect for beginners.

Course Outline:

  • Learn a variety of Hatha poses that can be practiced anywhere.
  • Understand and build a better relationship with your body and learn how to move in a way that works best for you.
  • Learn to breathe with more ease.
  • Develop greater balance and core strength

What to bring:

  • Yoga mat
  • Blanket
  • water bottle
  • wear comfortable clothing

About the tutor:

Angela Murphy had been teaching Yoga for nearly 20 years. She is trained in several styles and has taught all ages and levels in various studios across Sydney. It is her aim to bring the benefits of yoga to as many people as possible.

"Yoga is 30% on the mat and 70% off the mat. What we learn in class we will take into our everyday lives, Yoga helps one to live more authentically, with greater freedom and more happiness, what’s not to love!"
