Tarot St George & Sutherland Community College

Tarot

The Tarot Cards are thought to have been developed in China and brought to Italy by Marco Polo in the 14th Century. Tarot cards became the basis of the modern playing deck; the Minor Arcana four suits with 14 cards in each suit and the Major Arcana numbered from Zero to Twenty-one. When reading the Tarot it is essential to consider who you are reading for, noting the location of and which layout you are using. Also considering the influence of the neighbouring cards affects the interpretation of the situation.

Course Outline:

  • Ethics of Tarot Reading
  • Learn Seven different Layouts and how to interpret them using the notes.

Learning Outcome:

  • Learn Seven different Layouts and how to interpret them using the notes.

What to bring:

  • Please bring a Rider Waite or Universal Waite Tarot Deck. (They may be purchased online or from new age stores. If you have small hands you may find the Pocket size easier to shuffle but harder to read because it is smaller)
  • Pen and Paper for extra notes if desired.
  • Notes will be supplied.

About the Tutor:

'Ruth was psychic as a child and chose to study the Tarot instead of studying for the HSC! She now has forty year’s experience with Reading the Tarot and has been teaching her course since 2002. Ruth has worked as a professional since 2000 with Private Readings, reading at Markets, on Phone lines and hosting Psychic Parties. She can tell you of her experiences and recommendations in some funny and awkward situations!'

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
