Acquire conversational skills in languages other than English. These courses are based primarily on the acquisition of conversational skills. These courses are geared to the potential tourist, business person and those wishing to improve communication with friends or family who have a non-English speaking background. Discover the culture of each nation. Many courses require the purchase of a textbook.

In this course we will refine the Italian grammar by looking at :

• Objects pronouns
• Relative pronouns
• Use of the impersonal form

Verbs tenses

We will also develop conversation skills with a broader range of topics:

• Telephone conversations.
• Giving and answering invitations.
• Making arrangements using date and time.
• Making excuses and apologies.
• Talk about places visited or intending to visit.
• Italian art and culture are also explored and discussed.

Audiovisual aids, games and role-play are used to facilitate the diverse learning methods in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere of enjoyment and no stress.

Prerequisite:

• You need to have completed Italian Level 8 – Part 1 to enrol in this class or demonstrate your relevant ‘level’ through a conversation with the tutor prior to enrolling.

About the tutor:

Arsenia Neirotti was born in Torino, Italy, where she also completed her studies.
She has a great passion for the Italian language which she enjoys sharing with her students. Her love for her language prompted her to specialise in Adult Education and has been teaching at the SGSCC for the past 28 years.
Her main interests are Italian Renaissance Art and Opera which she has enthusiastically presented in her Italian Culture workshops.
Arsenia firmly believes that learning should be fun at any age so join her and have a great time.
