Why it matters now 

Early childhood education and school support are priority areas for NSW, and centres and schools are actively looking for qualified, caring people. New quality and staffing requirements mean the demand for Certificate and Diploma qualified educators is stronger than ever, so this is a field with real opportunity and real security. 

Where this can take you 

In early childhood, you could work as an early childhood educator in long day care, preschool or family day care, and grow into a room leader or centre role. In schools, you could become a School Learning Support Officer, sometimes called a teacher's aide, working alongside teachers to support students in primary and secondary classrooms, including students who need extra help. Both paths offer stable, meaningful work, often with hours that suit family life. 

Your pathway 

In early childhood, start with the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, the qualification that gets you job ready to work in a centre. Step up to the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to move into room leader and educational leader roles. If school support is your goal, train through the Certificate III or Certificate IV in School Based Education Support. Whichever path you choose, first aid and hands-on placement are built in, so you graduate ready for the real thing. 

How you will learn 

You learn by doing, with supervised placement in a real centre or school that we help arrange, so you build genuine experience and confidence. Your first aid training is included, and your trainers, who have worked in the field, keep classes small and personal. With monthly intakes and study options that fit around you, plus wellbeing and learning support at no extra cost, you are set up to succeed.
