Creating Doodling for Relaxing Fun & Meditative Mandalas. Incorporate your flair for art with your creative journalling/scrapbooking process. A great way to have some playful fun at the end of the day with no artistic requirements. Time for you to relax and enjoy creating mindful creative colourful doodles.

A hands on experiential, creative journey with a difference that has you learning simple, fun mixed media techniques while you practice some quick and easy mindfulness techniques to get you into the creative zone.

All levels of creative flair welcome, no prerequisites necessary. No mindful/meditation experience required. Relax and have fun socialising with others in the process of learning new techniques.

Content:

Ideal for time-poor creatives and non-artists this session is designed to be simple, mindful and relaxing in a fun, social workshop setting.
Providing participants with some quality time to unleash creative potential and reduce day to day stress and increase wellbeing and enjoyment in everyday life.

Quick and easy doodling techniques to help de-stress and have some creative fun in the process.

Learning Outcomes:

Learn how effective Mandala therapy can be in helping us along the Mindful Path and the benefits of utilising Mandalas in Meditation. Create your own simple mandalas using basic geometric and patterns and colour for effect.

  • meditating on the run- practice quick and easy techniques
  • guided visualisations and relaxation breathing
  • combining music with creative therapies.
  • Focus is on the process of creating joyful art, utilising mixed media and techniques such as; drawing, doodling, painting and creative journalling.

If you enjoy writing in your diary or journal then this is a novel way to continue the practice adding a creative element to it. If you are new to creative journalling then this is perhaps the best way to get to experience creative journalling or journal scrapbooking. It’s very addictive and uplifting.

Art materials used include:

watercolour pencils, watercolour/acrylic paints, felt pens, coloured markers, oil pastels on art paper, stencils. Visual Diary min A4 size

Duration: 1x 3.5 hours.

Materials: In general all materials required will be supplied unless specified by the Tutor prior to each session
All participants will be contacted by the Tutor prior to the workshop.

About the Tutor:

Facilitated by an Artist/Art Therapy and Holistic Creative Arts Therapist.

Melissa (Mel) Martin is a local contemporary Artist, Holistic Creative Art Therapist and a Mindfulness practitioner, who is passionate about enabling one’s inner ability to create, through artistic expression, seeking to inspire and promote wellbeing through an artistic journey of healing and personal growth.

Mel facilitates local art classes/workshops in the community and privately, where she explores with small groups their true selves and the potential they have and the fear that is holding them back. By engaging in this therapy, Mel is able to reach into the lives of the people she can help more directly or build a personalised service for an individual or group looking for opportunities to learn how to relax, reduce stress, improve confidence, empathy/compassion, problem solving skills and workflow.

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
