A fun-filled school holiday program where creativity, science, cooking and messy play come together!

Children aged 5–12 can spend their holidays creating, experimenting, cooking and discovering through a range of hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity, build confidence and encourage learning through play.

From slime and giant bubbles to galaxy jars, clay creations, rockets, tie-dye, bath bombs and delicious treats, there is something exciting to discover every day.

Course Overview

This hands-on school holiday program gives children the opportunity to explore creativity, science and cooking in a fun and supportive environment.

Children will be divided into two age groups:

• Ages 5–8
• Ages 9–12

Each day includes a range of practical activities, with children working in dedicated activity spaces including the Creative Hub, Science Lab and Kids in the Kitchen.

For whole-day bookings, groups swap activity spaces after lunch so children can experience both planned activity streams.

The program runs from 9:00am–3:30pm, with registration from 8:45am and collection by 3:45pm. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea breaks are included in the daily structure.

What Will We Get Up To?

Nature Makers – Creative Hub

Children can explore their creativity through a variety of hands-on art and making activities, including:

• Designing their own paper and trick-or-treat bags
• Nature collages
• Animal, flower and monster clay creations
• Wind chimes
• Galaxy jars
• Tie-dye tote bags
• Bath bombs
• Origami
• Halloween lanterns
• Other creative projects

Curious Scientists – Science Lab

A chance to experiment, investigate and discover what happens when science gets messy!

Activities include:

• Volcano eruptions
• DIY bubble wands
• Giant bubbles
• Slime making
• Bath bombs
• Rocket launchers
• Magic foil art
• Halloween slime

Little Chefs / Shake & Make – Kids in the Kitchen

Hands-on food activities where children can make, decorate and enjoy their creations.

Activities include:

• Decorating their own chef's hat
• Bliss balls
• Marshmallow pops
• Rice paper rolls
• Messy fudge
• Decorating and creating

Activities may vary slightly according to the day and age group.

Learning Outcomes

Through hands-on play and practical activities, children will have opportunities to:

• Develop creativity, imagination and self-expression
• Build confidence through trying new activities
• Explore science concepts through practical experimentation
• Develop problem-solving and curiosity
• Practise following instructions and completing projects
• Develop fine-motor and practical skills through making and creating
• Explore sensory experiences through a variety of materials and activities
• Develop social skills through shared experiences and group activities
• Experience the satisfaction of creating something themselves

Most importantly, children will have the opportunity to learn, explore and have fun in a supportive environment where there is no expectation to be perfect.

What to Bring

Children should bring:

• A packed lunch (or they can buy their lunch for under $10 from the special kids menu on offer at the on-site cafe)
• Morning tea and afternoon tea
• A clearly labelled water bottle
• Comfortable clothes suitable for creative, cooking and messy activities
• Closed-toe shoes
• A hat and sun protection for outdoor breaks
• A change of clothes if your child is particularly enthusiastic about messy play!

Please ensure all food and drink brought from home is clearly labelled.

Parents/carers should also provide any relevant information about allergies, dietary requirements or other needs when booking.

**Please note there is the option for parents/ carers to use the free parent room with access to free Wifi and tea/coffee

Fees (All materials included - children take their creations home!)

• Full Day - $80 per child
• Half Day - $50 per child

About the Tutor

Tina – Messy Play Adventures

With a background in psychology, counselling and over a decade of experience working across community services and disability support, Tina is passionate about creating spaces where learning is joyful, inclusive and hands-on.

She believes play is one of the most powerful ways children learn, connect and develop confidence. Her sessions are designed to give children opportunities to explore, experiment, create and discover in an environment where curiosity is encouraged and every child can participate in their own way.

Tina brings years of experience supporting families, mentoring teams and designing programs that build confidence, skills and community. She now combines that experience with her love of creativity, messy play and connection to create engaging experiences for children and families.

You'll often find Tina right in the middle of the action — chatting with families, splashing in the slime and cheering on every new milestone.
