Bring Your Own Sewing Project - New!
Join our relaxed sewing social and bring along any project you’d like to start, continue or finally finish. Whether it’s a garment, alterations, or a creative homeware piece, you’ll have two hours of guided studio time with expert support on hand.
This is the perfect space to troubleshoot tricky steps, build confidence and sew alongside others in a supportive, social environment. Ideal for beginners with basic machine skills through to more experienced makers wanting dedicated sewing time.
Course Outline:
- This is a relaxed, supportive sewing session where participants bring their own project to start, continue or finish.
- Perfect for unfinished garments, alterations, homewares or creative experiments.
- This is less “step by step class” more "guided studio with expert help.
- This class is for beginners with basic machine knowledge and or intermediate sewists wanting guidance.
Learning Outcomes:
- progress or complete a personal sewing project
- apply at least one new technique
- improve construction accuracy
- gain confidence working independently
- understand next steps for finishing at home
- learn how to alter garments saving lots of money
- learn to replace a skirt zipper
What to bring:
- own sewing machine (if preferred)
- pattern + instructions
- fabric + trims
- matching thread
- basic tools (scissors, pins, tape measure, unpicker etc.)
About the Tutor:
'Mora Cura brings over 35 years of experience in the fashion industry to her teaching. She holds an Advanced Diploma in Applied Fashion Design and Technology and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116). After a long career in the industry, Mora transitioned into teaching and now shares her passion for fashion, sewing, and design through practical, beginner-friendly classes. Her aim is to make sewing approachable, enjoyable, and empowering for all students.'

- To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
- All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
