Beginners Floral Design - New!
This Beginners Floral Design Workshop is designed to introduce you to the beautiful art of working with fresh flowers in a relaxed, welcoming and supportive environment. Whether you are completely new to floristry or simply looking to develop your creativity this course will guide you through the essential skills needed to create stunning floral arrangements. Throughout the workshop you will learn practical techniques used by professional florists including selecting quality flowers and foliage, preparing and caring for blooms to extend their life and understanding the foundations of good floral design.
You will also explore a variety of construction methods, including wired arrangements, hand tied bouquets and floral foam designs. This hands on workshop encourages creativity whilst building confidence as you work with seasonal flowers. By the end of the course you will have developed valuable floristry skills and create beautiful arrangements to take home, whilst enjoying the calming and rewarding experience of connecting with nature.
Learning Outcomes:
- Confidently select suitable flowers and foliage whilst understanding essential flower care techniques to maintain freshness and longevity
- Construct a wired floral arrangement learning basic wiring techniques for support and structure
- Create a hand tied bouquet, understanding spiral technique, balance and proportion
- Design a floral foam arrangement, learning correct foam preparation and flower placement for a balanced display

About the tutor:
'My name is Mandy, my love for flowers first bloomed whilst living in Northern Island and since then I’ve nutured that passion in St George and Sutherland Shire.
I own Dandelion Bespoke Floral Boutique which is a retail and events business, but also teaches those interested in learning about Floristry and Design. With over 15 years experience in this industry I have lots to share.'

- To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
- All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
