STEP - Ready Steady Dine

Cook your dinner – chop, slice, and dice ingredients, working in a fun and supportive environment to prepare and then enjoy what you have cooked with the group.

Educational Outcomes:

To learn a range of healthy and nutritious recipes as well as new cooking techniques, which you can practice in class and then cook again at home. Working in a fun and supportive environment to prepare healthy meals and students will share their ideas when planning the meals, and contribute to the items that make up the menu.

They will cook a dinner or meal together and then share that meal together, practicing their table manners and washing up skills as they go.

What to bring:

  • Bring an apron (optional)
  • a folder to keep your recipes in
  • Wear covered shoes
  • It’s best to have long hair tied back.
  • Consumables Cost $60* to be paid to tutor week 1.

The STEP program is for persons with an intellectual disability. This course runs for 2 hours per week and is run from our Jannali site.
