STEP - Cooking

Learn to cook healthy meals, with guidance, the participants will discuss and decide on the recipe selection for the term. The main focus is to learn to prepare deliciously healthy meals including main meals, lunches, and snacks. You will chop, grate, mix and mash, working in a fun and supportive environment to cook up a storm. You will learn some useful cooking tips a well as some information about kitchen safety. Everyone will receive a printed copy of the recipe to practice cooking at home.

What to bring:

  • Bring an apron (optional)
  • a folder to keep your recipes in
  • a container to take your prepared dish home
  • Wear covered shoes
  • It’s best to have long hair tied back.

+ Consumables Cost $60 to be paid to tutor week 1.

The STEP program is for persons with an intellectual disability. Each course runs for 2 hours per week.
