Commonwealth at 70

Commonwealth at 70 – Book Launch at Westminster Abbey

It has been an exciting year celebrating the 40th Anniversary of SGSCC and the book launch of ‘From Dream to Reality’, written by CEO and College Founder, Patricia Carroll, who also recently received an OAM Award. If that wasn’t already exciting enough, Patricia Carroll recently attended the launch of “The Commonwealth at 70 - From Westminster to the World”. This commemorative book was launched at Westminster Abbey on 25 June 2019.

St James’s House, London, the publisher of the book, on discovering Patricia’s personal reflection of SGSCC’s 40 years approached SGSCC to become a project partner of the official History of Parliament Trust Commonwealth at 70 commemorative album. The History of Parliament Trust is a research project that is creating a comprehensive account of parliamentary politics in Britain from its beginnings in the 13th Century.

The book celebrates the development and influence of the Commonwealth over the past seven decades, was researched by leading academics and co-authored by royal correspondent, Robert Jobson. It brings together key stories of best practice, acts as a springboard for further debate and trade, and prompts discussion of all aspects of the Commonwealth’s member states and trades within.

“This was indeed a grand occasion at a very grand venue attended by a great number of people from around the Commonwealth, including large corporates, charities, small-businesses and not-for-profits”. “What a once in a life-time privilege to find oneself a guest in Westminster Abbey”.

“It was a great honour to be a partner of this project and to see in print what a power for good the Commonwealth of Nations has become in the last 70 years”, Patricia commented.
