Learn Greek for Travellers

“Greek for Travellers” course is designed for all those who are planning to visit Greece and would like to learn and practice common and useful Greek phrases used when travelling. After the completion of the course, students will be able to communicate in basic everyday circumstances. They will learn vocabulary suited to situations that occur while on vacation, like eating out, shopping, booking a hotel, asking for directions etc....

This course is offered in Terms 2 & 4.

The course is designed to be completed in 8 days – 8 lessons of 2 hours each.

Course outline:

  • The alphabet
  • Greetings
  • Introducing yourself, etc.
  • At the taverna
  • Asking for directions
  • Shopping for food
  • Shopping for clothes
  • Booking a hotel

About the tutor:

'Vasiliki is a passionate and dynamic teacher who has been teaching languages to children and adults for many decades.
She has completed a bachelor’s degree in Greek and in English Language and Literature at the university of Ioannina. She returned to Australia in 2012 after living and teaching in Greece for many years.
She has a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by non-native speakers and is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all her students.''

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
