Floral Design - Wedding Flowers

If you are a bride-to-be or would like to gain knowledge of the wedding flower industry you can’t go past this course. You will gain knowledge and have lots of fun learning about the world of wedding flowers. You will create and take home a beautiful wedding bouquet and a wired buttonhole. We will also look at various floral options for the bridal party, tables, church and reception, covering everything from styles, colour themes, flower availability and pricing. This class may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

Private classes are available, you can bring your bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law, with a glass of bubbles and a cheese platter.

Course Outline:

During this course, the following topics will be covered, but not necessarily in order. This class may be adapted to suit the needs of the class.

  • Colour themes
  • Wedding bouquet styles
  • Wedding flowers
  • Decorations for tables, church and reception
  • Flower availability and pricing

Course Outcome:

By the end of this course, students will have learnt about:

  • Wedding colour themes
  • Styles of wedding bouquets
  • Have made a bridal posy bouquet
  • Have made a wired buttonhole
  • Have learnt about flower availability and pricing
  • Have learnt about table, church and reception flowers

What to bring:

  • Flowers and foliage to make your wedding posy bouquet and buttonhole
  • Ribbon for your bouquet
  • Ribbon scissors – scissors to cut the ribbon
  • Flower secateurs – proper cutting utensils used to cut flowers
  • An old tea towel or hand towel
  • Box or basket to take home your bouquet and buttonhole
  • Wires and parafilm will be supplied for your buttonhole

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
