Kringen - Tuesday

This is a course for those who like to socialise, have a cup of tea and learn some arts and craft or join in a game of bingo. Bring some morning tea to have with your cup of tea and some lunch. Students look forward to seeing each other each week. You can make friends and chat while working on your activity. STEP - Social Club

Come along and help plan a variety of activities in which to participate with friends and form new friendships. Each term we aim to complete at least one new activity while keeping some of our favorites from previous terms. Activities include gardening, bingo (with prizes), coffee shop and walk, movie or Wii, sport and games, and theme related days depending on the time of year (Christmas cards, fancy hat for Melbourne Cup, etc). + Consumables Cost $15 to be paid to tutor week 1.... STEP - Literacy, Basic

The term literacy is not restricted to just reading and writing but may include social and cultural literacy or learning based on everyday living such as time, numeracy and language skills. Classes have a consistent structure and each term is based around a theme or topic. Students work as a class, as individuals and also in groups. Covers the basics for beginners and challenges those with more experience. Improve your typing speed and accuracy using an interactive program. Keep a tally of your progress and see your improvement. Practice making flyers, cards, calendars and other creative projects by inserting pictures, colour, fonts and borders. Create basic documents, format them using options on the toolbar. STEP - Sewing

Using a needle and thread, hand-sew a project of your own. Select fabrics, ribbons or laces to decorate your project using embroidery, sequinning, quilting or applique. Create something beautiful for yourself or make a gift for someone special. Sewing requires you to focus, both physically and mentally on the task and helps to develops hand-eye coordination. Kringen - Saturday

Join in a group of friends who catch up each Saturday and go places together. The group discusses and then decides on the places they will go. Each week will be a different place and costs are kept to a minimum where possible. Some places are out for lunch, to see the latest movie or a picnic in the local area. Shopping, golf, bowling, it’s your choice. Come along, make new friends, explore your community and have some fun! The course is for persons with an intellectual disability. [More]

Create a project to take home each week or work on something a little more involved. Affordable, yet useful and decorative objects will be made and will be completed by hand or by using only simple tools. Projects are suitable for all levels from beginners to the more experienced.
