Women's Circle
Secret women’s business. A Women’s only safe space to retreat from the outer world and connect with your inner knowledge. We will drum, meditate and craft together. An introduction to the medicine wheel and the associated directions will be shared. We will explore different drums as a tool to enter the gateway of our inner stillness. Learn to play basic rhythms on African drums (djembes) and experience shamanic drum journeys with shamanic (frame) drums. Take a small break from the business of the world and our own minds to be held, nurtured, and supported. Practice mindfulness, or rather mind-emptiness as you learn simple rhythms on a drum and enter the gateway into the timeless, flow space. Learn how to use the drum as a bridge from your monkey mind to the spaciousness within. Go deep with guided meditations and shamanic drum journeys. Learn how to connect to this stillness, embody it and bring into your own life.

About the Tutor:
'Hi there, I’m Sal & I’ve had the pleasure of teaching & performing African Drumming (Djembe) since 2007. I’m trained in African drumming, drum therapy and hold a diploma in shamanic healing. I’ve taught at various community colleges and schools throughout Sydney, run women’s sacred drumming circles, drumming meditation, seniors drumercise and run African and shamanic drumming retreats for women. I’m called to this work as drumming is such a unique modality which transcends age, race, sex, religion, and preconceived notions of musicality. It is an ancient tool relevant in a modern society for personal empowerment and community engagement. It brings people together regardless of whether they have ever touched a musical instrument before, to create music – in the moment – to be – in the moment and to share that moment with others which is important right now more then we have ever known. “United we conquer, divided we fall.” – Aesop'
