Watercolour Abstract Landscapes - New!
Join us to experiment with watercolour landscapes. Create 3 abstract landscape paintings using easy creative methods. This is a class for all levels of watercolour painting. To start, we will paint some practice paintings to gently lead us into painting creatively and loosely in watercolour.
Course Outline:
- Introduction to wet in wet watercolour skies

- How to mix colours on the page to create vibrant paintings
- How to create transparent layers of watercolour

What to bring:
Tubes
- Any landscape colours that you love
- Marion will be working with 2 blues, 1 yellow, 2 reds, raw sienna and burnt sienna and sometimes turquoise
- You are welcome to use pan watercolour paints or whatever you have.
Paper
- 3 x A4 (or 3 x A3) watercolour paper (quality paper works best)
- 4 x A4 practice watercolour paper
- Brushes – a big brush for water (eg a Hake brush or large mop). Also, bring a range of brushes so you can enjoy painting wet in wet washes. As a guide, Marion uses 5 brushes: 2 medium round brushes with good points, one flat brush, a liner brush and a large flat brush for water.
- You also need Boards larger than your paper (unless you’re using a watercolour block), HB pencil, eraser, masking tape, watercolour palette, spray bottle, old towel for the table, tissues, 2 water containers and a sense of fun.

- To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
