Vocal Expressions Workshop

Enjoy the benefits of singing like stress relief, improved breathing and help ward off brain diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia. Learn in a fun group environment using the New York-based THROGA® (‘throat yoga’) techniques and exercises. Merilyn is one of only 3 certified Throga® teachers in Australia. We will sing some rounds and a variety of songs old and new.

Course outline:

Vocal health will also be discussed including how to sing safely without damaging your voice, how to avoid nodules, remedies for sore throats, colds and things that affect your singing voice negatively such as certain foods, drinks, medications, weather, emotions etc. We will discuss alternatives that will help and improve your performance.

What to bring:

Bring plenty of bottled water, your voice and your sense of humour!

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
