Urban Sketching Introduction

Keeping a visual art diary as we go about our daily lives can be a great way to record ideas, quick sketches, and drawing references for future or larger works of art. Learn to draw the environment around you in this classroom-based one-day (five-hour) workshop, which will encompass close-up drawings of buildings, fountains, statues, trees, and gardens, as well as other features of urban design. This enjoyable method of creating quick drawing references can be rewarding and relaxing, as well as provide beneficial practice in a very practical way. Urban sketching can also greatly improve our perception and awareness when drawing. Take what you learn from this workshop to develop a visual diary of the world around you. The workshop is designed for students of all levels of drawing ability.
