Learn the benefits of self-care Massage therapy in this fun 1-day workshop. It is simple, convenient and affordable. This Do-It-Yourself method can be done in the comfort of your home, at work, travelling, or when you are out and about.

Learn to ease stress and muscle tension with self-massage techniques using your hands, massage tools and other tips and tricks. Massage has plenty of other physical and mental benefits too. This self-massage workshop offers practical easy-to-follow advice for relieving some symptoms of minor health complaints, such as muscle aches and pain, headaches, sore feet, tired legs, digestive disorders, sinus, stress and anxiety, just to name a few.

Learn some of the best and safest self-massage techniques to try at home. Learn how to massage your head, face, neck, shoulders, back, stomach, arms, hands, legs and feet to keep your body relaxed and healthy.

Course Outline:

  • Discover self-massage as an ancient art.
  • Discuss the benefits of self-massage, and how it can be used for different body systems and minor ailments.
  • Become aware of how your body can benefit from self-massage care.
  • Introduction to using safe massage movements, using both your hands and various massage tools for those tricky to reach areas.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To understand the benefits of why, and when to use self-massage for different conditions.
  • Be able to prepare for self-massage, and safety first.
  • Learn basic massage techniques using your hands.
  • Learn how to massage using massage tools, creams and oils, a few aromatherapy oils, hot and cold therapies and other tips.
  • Learn self-massage movements for muscular aches and pain.
  • Learn self-massage for minor ailments.

What to bring:

  • Wear loose and comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily.
  • 2 bath towels
  • 2 hand towels
  • Cream (a jar or tube of any cream to use as a lubricant)

About the Tutor:

'Gillian Travers has been a Massage Therapist for over 35 years, coming from a family of massage therapists. She is a massage educator and has travelled around the world experiencing different types of massage treatments. Gillian has gathered self-massage skills from years of experience, to bring you a fun informative workshop.'

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
