Qigong - Beginners

Health Qigong is a health and fitness exercise handed down from ancient China, a series of exercises complied and published by the Chinese Health Qigong Association. Qigong features an extended, soft and even movements displaying a graceful charm, many of the movements focus on the turning and flexing of the spine, thus invigorating the limbs and internal organs. These movements have been proved to improve health and fitness, very impressive effects on the respiratory system, flexibility, balance and muscular strength. Health Qigong involves an integration of mind and body, natural breathing, gentle movements infused with strength and an interplay of the insubstantial and the substantial. Easy to learn and perform, has impressive health and fitness effects, and is adaptable to all age groups.

In this course, we will introduce a set or two of the following Health Qigong per term;

  • Wu Qin Xi (5 Animals Sign)
  • Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong Shi Er Fa (Daoyin 12 Methods)
  • Yi Jin Jing (Tendon-Muscle Strengthening Exercises)
  • Ba Duan Jin (8pcs of Brocades)
  • Liu Zi Jue (6 Sounds Qigong)

Course Outline:

  • Standard Warm Up exercises
  • A set of selected Health Qigong movements to learn per week and it will be broken down into small segments for easy understanding of each movement/sound and its purposes.
  • By end of the term, you should be able to master one or two complete set of Health Qigong routines on your own
  • Cooling down exercises

  • Learning how to relax and taking deep breathe
  • Internal stretching of our tendons and muscle
  • Better coordination
  • Improves balance and postures
  • Improves general well-being

What to bring:

  • Wear comfortable, loose (relax) top and pant
  • Flat Shoe (if possible)
  • Water

About the Tutor:

  • Accredited Tai Chi Instructor by Kung Fu Wushu Australia, National Coaching Accreditation Scheme
  • Cert III in Fitness
  • Trained in Singapore, Malaysia and China under several well-known Masters and has the knowledge of several Tai Chi Forms, Qigongs and Tai Chi Weapons.
  • In-depth Qigong knowledge in relation to difference part of our body
  • Involved in running tai chi & qigong workshops, organising Tai Chi Events & performances, trained tai chi competitors to compete locally and overseas
  • Started teaching Tai Chi Chuan since 2004 & Qigong in 2006.

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
