Portraiture Up Close St George & Sutherland Community College

Portraiture Up Close

Drawing Faces: Are you interested in learning about portraiture? Portraiture is perhaps one of the most challenging forms of art and can be difficult to master. Like any form of creativity, drawing well requires a lot of time and a great deal of practice, however, studying faces up close can greatly assist in the process of creating amazing portraits. This one-day five-hour workshop will greatly improve your perception and visual awareness by focusing on the detailed drawing of facial features including eyes, noses, mouths, ears, and hair.

Through helpful drawing exercises and tutor-led explanation and demonstration, this course will concentrate on the importance of creating the correct shape, structure, and proportion. By breaking the image down into its various parts, the art of portraiture becomes less daunting and this workshop will help you to draw faces with more accurate proportion and structure. The workshop is designed for students of all levels of drawing ability.
