Polymer Clay Earrings for Beginners

In this beginner hands on course, you will learn the basics of making your own unique polymer clay earrings. Learn the differences between polymer clay brands, which brands are best for beginners, how to condition the clay, create a terrazzo inspired slab, add design elements, cut, bake and finish your earrings. After making your terrazzo earrings, you can then browse through some sample earrings for ideas and inspiration or experiment and create your very own unique designs. Come alone or bring some friends with you and discover your creative side, as you immerse yourself in a cloud of creativity for a few hours.

Course Outline:

The course will cover the following in 1 × 3 hour session:

  • What is polymer clay?
  • Available brands of polymer clay & the best ones for beginners
  • How to condition the polymer clay
  • How to create a terrazzo slab
  • How to embellish, add texture & details
  • How to cut the polymer clay
  • How to bake the polymer clay
  • How to attach earring findings and assemble earrings

Learning Outcomes:

  • Participants will be able to make simple polymer clay earrings using basic tools, materials and techniques

  • All tools and materials will be provided. Just bring your enthusiasm and an open mind to learn a new craft

About the Tutor:

'Hello there! I’m Lily and I’m a qualified trainer and assessor, educator and mixed media artist. My passion for making polymer clay earrings stems from my desire to produce beautiful, vibrant, handmade and one of a kind works of wearable art. I always get a kick out of seeing someone wear one of my creations. I’ve always loved making things by hand and the therapeutic benefits that come with handmaking things. When I discovered polymer clay and saw how flexible this medium was, I fell in love with it immediately. Additionally, I enjoy sharing my skills and knowledge and bringing some creative happiness to everyone.'

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
