Mindful Yoga - Calm Aliveness - Taster
Mindful Yoga is a pathway towards living life with more calm aliveness in it and less stress and overwhelm. More energy to do the things that you want and desire for. A meditative style of gentle yoga that brings movement and stillness into your body, reducing the impact of oxidative stress on your physical health, and working towards transforming your inner space to create more healing and wellness. Includes, mindful stretching, strengthening, breathing practices, somatic meditation and relaxation.
Course Outline:
- Centre, breathe and stretch
- Release, relax, strengthen
- Somatic Experiencing Meditation, Stimulating the Vagus Nerve for inner stability
- Regulating the nervous system and internal systems
- Learn the importance of completing the startle and stress response
- Strategies for managing stress, anxiety and overwhelm
Learning Outcomes:
- Yoga practices for managing stress and increasing calm aliveness
- Increased understanding of the role of the vagus nerve for regulating the internal systems, promoting health and wellbeing and reducing the impact of stress
- Awareness of the benefits of yoga in increasing flexibility, strength and balance.
What to bring:
- Yoga mat or large towel
- Water to hydrate
- Cushions for added support
- Note pad and pen
- Throw rug for deep relaxation
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing
- Meditation can be practiced on the floor or in provided chairs
