Learn Indonesian - Bahasa for Beginners - Part 1
This beginners course aims to develop a basic foundation for your Indonesian language learning.
SGSCC Beginners Language courses are Entry Level, meaning no prior knowledge is required. These courses are geared to the potential tourist, business person and those wishing to improve communication with friends or family who have a non-English speaking background.
Course Introduction:
Mastering the basics of foreign language conversation can be daunting but it is easier than you think. Learn how to ask simple questions, talk about yourself, make enquiries and socialise. By the end of the course, with proper application and home practice, you should be able to make yourself understood by a native speaker.
This course aims to develop a solid foundation for your Bahasa Indonesia learning journey. It is an entry level hence no prior knowledge is required. You may be a complete beginner or you might have learnt a bit of Indonesian in the past but would like to brush up and start again from the very beginning.
This course is geared towards the potential tourist, businesspersons and those wishing to improve communication with friends or family with Indonesian background. Join us for fun and practical evening classes!
Course Outline:
After completing this course, you should be able to:
- Listen to short and simple conversations
- Conduct basic conversations using basic essential words
- Read highly explicit texts containing basic structures
- Write simple sentences and questions
Learning Outcomes:
In this course, you will be trained in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The lessons are graded in difficulty, and will include practical topics such as greetings, introducing yourself and others, recognising letters in the alphabet, recognising different objects, describing your daily routines, asking and telling directions, etc. The lessons will also be presented with explanations on the grammatical aspect of the Indonesian language, cultural notes and relevant exercises in each week.

Language Bundle:
- All language classes/levels are delivered as Part 1 and Part 2 across two terms. To maximise your chance of learning we recommend enrolling into both parts 1 and 2.
- If you book into Parts 1 and Part 2 you will automatically save $40.
- When enrolling in Part 1, Part 2 will automatically be selected at the checkout. You can untick Part 2 if you wish.

- All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
