Gentle Exercise & Relaxation for Over 60's

Come and enjoy an easy paced gentle exercise class incorporating stretching, elementary Hatha yoga poses, deep breathing, visualisation and relaxation with ample rest periods.

What to bring:

Participants to bring exercise mat or towel and be able to lie on the floor.

About the tutor:

Val is a fully qualified Hatha Yoga instructor – Diploma in the practice and Theory of Yoga, Anatomy and Physiology with extensive experience over many years. Val managed her own Yoga practice operating in the St George, Canterbury and Bankstown districts and worked for the Education department teaching relaxation/stress management to executive clientele.

Initiated a gentle exercise class upon inception of Hurstville Aquatic Centre and taught there for 10 years. Has also given presentations for Hurstville (now known as Georges River) and Rockdale councils re: The Presentation of Exercise and Aging.

Currently working for the St George & Sutherland Community College and have done so for numerous years at various venues throughout the St George & Sutherland areas.

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
