Fun Fit
This circuit class features cardiovascular exercise (including, but not limited to, machines), alternating with a variety of strength exercises for both the upper and lower body. While participants are encouraged to challenge themselves, each works at his or her own pace. No complex choreography, no fancy dance moves. Participants can work at their own pace, so this class caters to a range of fitness levels.
Equipment: You will need a resistance band (bring your own, or purchase from the instructor for $8).
- Course Outline:
- Each week’s workout will be a little different, but all will include both cardiovascular and strength exercises;
- Use a combination of machines (rowing machine, stationary cycle, ski machine), free weights, resistance bands, and body weight to achieve a whole-body workout
- Learn the principles of HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training) whatever your fitness level
- Learning Outcomes:
- Learn to use a range of modalities for cardio fitness, monitor your exertion level, and improve stamina/endurance
- Understand the different ways of improving strength using a range of equipment and bodyweight – no expensive gimmicks or gym equipment required.
- Enjoy workouts that are designed to build confidence as well as endurance and strength for people of all fitness levels – all exercises are demonstrated thoroughly and can be modified depending on fitness and experience.
- What to bring:
- You will need a resistance band (at least one metre long). Bring your own or purchase from the instructor at first-class ($8.00).

- About the Tutor:
Catherine (Kate) DeMayo has been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor for over 15 years. She has instructed at various community facilities and with the local area health service. Kate strongly believes that it is never too late – nor too early – to improve your fitness and strength.
Other Information:
- To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
- All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
