Cooking with Vegetables

Whether you are vegetarian, vegan, just want to add more vegetables to your diet, you want to lose weight, or whether you want to learn more about healthy cooking, vegan food, or vegetarian recipes this cooking workshop is for you! Join us at SGSCC and learn how to prepare and cook some fantastic tasting vegetable dishes that are full of flavor the whole family will love. Join us at SGSCC for this cooking class and figure out how delicious and versatile vegetables can be! In this class, we will create nutritiously balanced meals using seasonal vegetables, nuts, and legumes, along with tips on storage and preserving to save on cooking times and food waste.

Discover the many different ways to prepare common vegetables and disguise them for those fussy eaters! In this class, you will make your vegetable dishes step by steps such as South Indian Curry or Roasted Vegetable Tagine. You will be shown how to cook delicious and healthy vegetable dishes, that you can easily recreate at home for the whole family to enjoy.

  • Vegetable and haloumi fritters with beetroot labneh
  • Potato lentil cakes with tomato chilli jam
  • Falafels lettuce burgers with carrot cumin-spiced yoghurt
  • Pancakes made with vegetable purees
  • South Indian curry with cauliflower rice
  • Cashew cauliflower fried rice
  • Vegetable pizzas
  • Vegetable meatballs
  • Roasted vegetable tagine with tomato salsa couscous
  • Spinach ricotta lasagne with basil and mixed seed pesto

  • 2 Tea Towels

About the Tutor:

'Maria has worked in the food industry for over 20 years as a chef. She has gained a wealth of knowledge in many different hospitality environments. In restaurants both here in Australia and overseas, in food production for a dessert company and private catering specializing in organic vegetarian dishes. She has a passion for cooking home-style comfort food. Along with her experience in the food industry, and love of teaching, she has created several classes taught at SGSCC, from “Pasta Making” and “Cooking with Vegetables” from scratch to a class filled with “High Tea Delights” and many more.'

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
