This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. SGSCC has designed this course specifically to support students who have barriers to completing their studies in a school environment. 

On competent completion, this Certificate III qualification allows you to apply for traineeships, apprenticeships and/or pathway to further studies.

What will you achieve from completing this course?

  • A nationally recognised BSB30120 Certificate III in Business

What you need to know about this course:

  • Course commencement date is Tuesday 2 August 2022 and course completion date is Thursday 8 December
  • 6 months duration (two school terms)
  • Course days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (students attend all three days each week)
  • 9.30am - 3pm each day (half hour lunch)
  • Classes are not held during the school holidays
  • Private Facebook groups are used to share resources and learning
  • Resources are provided by SGSCC
  • WiFi is available

Course entry requirements:

To be eligible you need to meet the following criteria:

  • 15-18 years old
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • No longer enrolled in school (Fee Free placement)
  • Hold a green Medicare Card

Do you need to complete any work placement hours?

No, there are no work placement hours required.

Will you need to sit for any exams?

  • No. This is a competency-based course
  • Tell us, then show us you understand and are able to implement the learning you have received
  • You will be required to complete competently assessment tasks for all 13 units of learning

To be deemed competent:

  • You will receive clear assessment instructions
  • You must complete all assessments to a satisfactory standard as set by your trainer
  • These are assessed by your trainer
  • Opportunities will be provided for trainers to support students and to resubmit their assessments if required

Your course fees & payment options:

This course is currently Fee-Free under Skilling for Recovery for the remainder of 2022, if you are signed out of School.
If you are not signed out of School, the course fee is $3000.00.
You can set up a monthly payment plan of $500.00 per month.

Eligibility for Subsided Training under the Smart & Skilled Training Program:

This training is subsidised by the NSW Government under the Smart & Skilled Training Program. To be eligible you must be

  • an Australian Citizen/Perm Resident/NZ citizen/humanitarian visa holder
  • aged 15 years or older, and
  • live or work in New South Wales, and
  • no longer be at school or equivalent

Eligibility for “Skilling for Recovery” - Fee-Free nationally accredited training:

Skilling for Recovery is a NSW Government initiative to deliver JobTrainer funding in NSW. It provides free certificate, diploma and short course training to eligible applicants. If you meet the Smart & Skilled Program eligibility above and one of the following you could complete this course fee free:

  • Unemployed (with or without a benefit); or
  • At risk of unemployment; or
  • 17-24 years old (employed or not)
