Basic Drawing for Beginners

Contrary to popular belief, drawing is not a talent reserved for only the gifted. Instead drawing is an acquired skill that requires understanding, perception, and practice. During this four week Basic Drawing Course For Beginners that is designed for students of all levels of drawing ability, you will learn about structure, proportion, and perspective, which are fundamental in sketching the world around us.

Artists are not born with the ability to draw. It is a learned skill that takes a lot of time and practice to develop. What is required is a keen desire to learn and to be challenged. During this course, you will be given proven drawing techniques through tutor-led demonstrations, handouts, and exercises and the time to begin to develop your drawing skills. The course will also explore how we view objects in three and two dimensions, how one object relates to another, how the use of light, shade, shadow, and tone play an important role in creating realism in art.
