Watercolour Landscapes for Beginners

Learn watercolour washes and use them to create 2 simple landscapes. Paint with wet in wet washes and watercolour glazes. All painting is guided with step by step instruction, as well as the freedom to express your own creativity.

What to bring:

  • 3 tubes watercolour: Blue (cobalt and/or ultramarine), Red (Alizarin crimson and/or permanent rose), Yellow (Cadmium yellow and/or raw sienna). Optional extras: Burnt sienna, viridian, turquoise
  • 3 watercolour brushes: medium round brush with a good point, small dagger brush, medium hake brush.
  • 3 sheets A3 watercolour paper – must be quality watercolour paper such as Arches or Saunders Waterford or you will be disappointed with the results. Marion will bring Saunders Waterford 300 gsm paper with her for anyone to purchase on the day
  • 2 boards larger than your paper
  • 2 watercolour jars
  • Masking tape
  • Palette
  • Spray bottle
  • Old towel for the table
  • Tissues – cheap tissues work best
