Food Tour - A Walking Tour of Surry Hills

Come and discover what is in your own backyard with a walking tour of Surry Hills, where we find some of the most amazing food providors from butchers and cheese mongers to green grocers, cupcakes, organic food and anything in between. We also stop for a bite of lunch.

Location to Meet:

The meeting place is the Elizabeth Street entrance to Central Railway Station on the corner of Eddie Avenue and Elizabeth Street. Just outside the entrance is a tall bus sign with the letter ‘T’ in a circle at the top. Ann will wear a set of orange beads and will be carrying an orange bag.

All food purchased is at own expense and lunch is at own cost.

What our students are saying:

"I am writing to you today after my course of Food Walking Tour of Surry Hills and want you to know how enjoyable this tour was. Ann was a very friendly, easy going guide who was extremely knowledgeable. The tour was relaxed and our group was made to feel welcome at each venue with the cheese venue being the most outstanding in my opinion.",Kerry

"I recently did the ‘Food Tour – A Walking Tour of Surry Hills’ with a group of friends. We had a really great day exploring the streets of Surry Hills and visiting a variety of food shops including a boutique butcher, a cheese retailer, a chocolatier, a cupcake and an ice cream shop where we were given a commentary from the staff about their businesses along with tastings of their products. We also had time to explore an alternative supermarket selling a variety of organic and natural products. At each stop we were able to purchase products to take home. The day ended with a visit to a pub built in 1939 that now sells a huge variety of boutique beers and ciders on tap. Thanks to our host, Anne for making this an enjoyable and memorable day.",Debbie
