Upholstery

Modern and traditional techniques, skills and methods are taught to enable you to upholster, re-cover, renovate or update household furniture. A stool top will be made in class. Small cost for materials extra.

Course Outline:

Week 1 - Intro tools equip
Week 2 - Crimp glueing
Week 3 - Pin cushion upholstery
Week 4-5 - Finishing techniques
Week 6 - Padding materials (traditional)
Week 7 - Padding materials (modern)
Week 8 - Upholster stool top

What to bring:

Please bring tack hammer, scissors, pincers, loose tape (dressmaker’s tape), bladed screwdriver, white school chalk, pen and paper. Small cost of $30 for materials payable to the tutor at the first lesson.

Other Information:

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run ("we try our hardest to get those") . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled prior to the commencement and you will be informed.
