STEP - Horticulture & Animal Care

SGSCC has a community garden on-site with free range chickens, rabbits, established gardens with fruit trees, a variety of herbs and other plants. In this hands-on course you will develop fundamental gardening skills such as plant identification, propagating, planting, watering, weeding and feeding. Animal skills such as feeding, petting and collecting fresh eggs will help to make you feel more connected to nature. If you are looking at getting a job in this industry, this would be a great starting point or if you just want to be outside in the fresh air working with others this is the course for you.

The STEP program is for persons with an intellectual disability. Each course runs for 2 hours per week.
