Educational Outcomes:

To develop skills and knowledge related to healthy food and nutritional options. Improve your knowledge and skills around food literacy and nutrition education, healthy eating, food budgeting, food prep, and cooking skills. Practice planning, shopping and preparing for healthy options, while approaching this in a mindful way.

Be inspired to create menu plans using healthy recipes, understand food labelling, eat healthily and waste less. Work with others who are passionate about food and expand your independence in creating meal plans that are delicious and nutritious.

Broaden your palate and try new foods. Explore alternative meal options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Learn to create a range of snacks that are good for you.
Step into Food for Thought for a mindful, healthy, delicious and nutritious experience.

What to bring:

  • $40 paid to the tutor week 1
  • a folder to keep recipes in
  • an apron (optional)
  • covered shoes

The STEP program is for persons with an intellectual disability. This course runs for 2 hours per week and is run from our Jannali site.
