Mindfulness - Why it Matters - New!

Learn how to become peaceful in the present moment. Being completely aware, consciously present as you simply are. This can be sitting by yourself seeking to meditate, on a busy train, in the car, or even walking down the street. Mindfulness requires the exercise of the right attention that enables full awareness of ‘Here and Now’. Mindfulness means accessing the depth of awareness at your core ongoing in the eternal present moment, with you being consciously in charge of how you relate to the circumstances of your life. From this basis, you can engage life with real energy, vitality, and vigour. Being naturally ‘in charge’ of your life, rather than merely reacting to circumstances and trying to cope with a noisy and cluttered mind. Be prepared to have your normal assumptions of life challenged as you are supported to look deeply into Your Life, exploring what is life, consciousness, and fulfillment. Insights and tools essential to Mindfulness will be shared, discussed, and practiced as you are supported to grow, smile, and breathe more fully, deeply, and completely.

Course Outline:

  • Each week we’ll begin with a Breath-based Meditation to ground us in the Present Moment
  • Sessions will explore in a sequenced way aspects of
  • Breath
  • Awareness
  • Attention (and What You are Doing with It)
  • How You Become What You Give Your Attention To
  • The link between Attention and Mindfulness
  • Mindfulness itself
  • Participants will get to personally explore aspects of their Consciousness in a supportive and understanding manner that respects individual needs
  • Present-Centred Awareness will be the basis of our sessions

  • Awareness of Mindfulness and its benefits in daily life
  • Increased calmness, mental and emotional poise, and balance
  • Insight (and increased ability) into how to create the life that you truly want
  • A happier, more balanced, and effective you

What to bring:

  • Notepad and pen
  • A willingness to engage, inquire and explore
  • Cushion and blanket if preferred for Breath Meditation.

About the Tutor:

'Grant Johnson has been exploring Eastern and Western approaches to Awareness, Insight, Life Meaning, and Enlightenment for the past 40 years. He has explored a variety of spiritual approaches, techniques, and practices with the aim of understanding life, consciousness, and transcendence including at extended retreats in India, Germany, and Australia, and training sessions in the USA. Based on his experience and the insights gained Grant is motivated to help serve others in the quest for spiritual growth, insight, and in living a full and accomplished life. Grant has Post Graduate qualifications and training in Human Change and Counselling (Jansen Newman Institute) and Gestalt Psychotherapy (Sydney Gestalt Institute)'.

  • To ensure resources are ready for you at the start of your course, we ask you ideally enrol at least one week before the course commences.
  • All courses need a minimum number of students to run (“we try our hardest to get those”) . If your course does not have enough students it will be cancelled before the commencement and you will be informed.
